As part of its commitment to new language forms, Miradas2, in collaboration with La Casa Encendida-Obra Social Cajamadrid, holds its annual Bumper Competition.
Opening a window to videocreation whilst at the same time proposing a challenge for video-creators: To use all the resources of digital art to tell a story and put across a message, in a record time of 10 seconds maximum.
Through these bumpers, instants which define the line a television station is taking aesthetically, Miradas 2 also aims to make a reading of the variety of audiovisual languages currently standing out.
In its first edition, 200 bumpers were submitted and this, the 2nd Miradas 2 Bumper Competition, has exceeded all expectations. Over 800 bumpers have been received from all over the country and beyond (Portugal, France, Belgium, Italy, UK, Germany, Argentina, Paraguay).
Of the 800 bumpers submitted, 170 works have been selected, which the viewers will have the chance to see in an informative programme that will be broadcasting them over several weeks, and also at the programme website: www.miradas2.tve.es, where they can be viewed and votes can be cast. All viewers participating in the voting until 31 March are entered in a draw to win a Playstation 3.
The bumpers selected will also be taken on tour, being screened at several cinema and digital art festivals. The first event at which all the selected bumpers will be screened is the Malaga Film Festival.
