Los Angeles Confidential

Los Angeles is this year's guest city at ARCO, so we have decided to devote a season of films to the city most intensely linked to the art of cinema. Los Angeles, the city with the largest and most important film industry in the world, Hollywood, has at the same time and in silence been the cradle to different schools of film that have opened new perspectives both in cinema and in the collective vision of the city itself. The commissioner, Thom Andersen, is a film director, film critic and teacher at the California Institute of the Arts and maker of, among other films, Los Angeles Plays Itself, a highly acclaimed documentary on the city. The season brings us a true portrait of Los Angeles through 20 films, in which the city, traditionally portrayed incorrectly by its all-powerful film industry, is shown in a new light. Thom Andersen join us on the 17th and 18th, to present the season and his own fims Los Angeles Plays Itself and Get Out of the Car.

  • Date: every Wednesday and Thursday in February.
  • Place: Audiovisual room.
  • Price: €2
  • All the films will be shown in their original language with subtitles in Spanish. The films in this series are rated as suitable for viewers over the age of 13.
