Aware of its environmental responsibility, as well as the impact that its activities might have on the environment, the Financial Group Caja Madrid commits itself to continuous improvement and prevention of pollution by means of the installation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System, within the framework of the guidelines established in its Environmental Policy.
The adoption of this Policy guarantees compliance with the current legislation at a community, national, autonomous and local level and any other requirements which are to be applied as a result of its own corporate strategies or the signing and adhesion to other agreements or protocols.
This commitment aims to go beyond the said legal commitment by means of the use of the best techniques available, providing the necessary resources whenever possible.
The Caja Madrid Group is steadfast in its commitment to the prevention of pollution. It will implement this policy not only by means of an internal system designed to minimize any impact associated to its installations and activities, but also by means of the incorporation of environmental criteria in its activities.
The Caja Madrid Group has a proactive and positive influence on the conduct of its interested parties and on its principal suppliers and contractors, and promotes the adoption of responsible conduct towards the environment.
This proactive involvement is reinforced through its collaboration in the development of conservation and environmental improvement projects, such as its support for environmental initiatives in public and/or large and small enterprises. This will take the form of grants, sponsorship, research, publications, seminars and other areas of patronage.
In order to follow these general guidelines and to comply with its commitment for continuous improvement, the Caja Madrid Group puts special emphasis on the training and awareness in environmental concerns among its personnel, and provides the most efficient and suitable means for this end.
The present Environmental Policy is published and distributed at all levels of the Group, and is at the disposal of the general public and especially the interested parties.
