La Casa Encendida occupies a century-old building designed in the Neo-Mudejar style in the heart of Lavapiés, a historic Madrid neighbourhood known for its colourful mix of young artists and people from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. .
A listed building of special historic and artistic interest, the structure was designed by architect Fernando Arbós for a financial institution, the Monte de Piedad y Caja de Ahorros de Madrid, and inaugurated in 1913. The bank used it for several different purposes until it was temporarily closed more than two decades ago.

With a capacity for up to 400 people in cocktail-party format, the terrace is the perfect place to kick off or cap off any event, take a break or even host an original “fresh-air” event.
Perched on the rooftop terrace, the 80-m 2 space in Tower 1 has tiered masonry seating for up to 40 people, with the possibility of adding an extra row to accommodate another 15 audience members. It also has a small entry hall for welcoming and checking in guests and a side terrace that's ideal for coffee breaks or simply getting some fresh air before continuing the activity inside.
On the lower level, our large auditorium is equipped with a full range of audiovisual resources to offer an unparalleled experience in presentations, press conferences, group discussions, performances, etc.
The entire hall is covered in wood panelling, giving it incredible acoustics and lighting that can be adjusted to the needs of each event.
The auditorium has a large 12 x 4-metre stage that can be extended to a depth of 6 metres, with direct access to the dressing rooms. It boasts comfortable seating for up to 167 audience members and a giant retractable ceiling-mounted 4 x 3-metre screen centred over the stage, perfect for viewing crystal-clear, high-quality images from our 7,000-lumen projector.
The hall also has two booths for simultaneous interpretation and a central audiovisual booth from which all stage elements are controlled.
Screening Room / Cinema
Our screening room or cinema is located opposite the auditorium.
This space is perfect for holding the same type of activities as the auditorium but with a smaller audience: corporate performance reports and product presentations, press conferences, talks, film screenings, etc.
It is equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection technology, such as DCP and Bluray, as well as traditional 16mm systems.
The room has a seating capacity for 72 people.
The stage and its giant screen add the finishing touches to a smaller, more private setting for our event or activity.
These bright, sunny rooms are the perfect place for conducting all sorts of activities, from group workshops to private press interviews and business meetings, thanks to La Casa Encendida's ample furniture stock.
We have five multi-purpose rooms on the second floor, four of which are separated by removable panels and can be divided or combined as required for a maximum surface area of more than 230 m2. Each room has between 50 and 60 square metres of floor area and a combined capacity for up to 200 people.
