The En Pausa festival will kick off with a live performance by Ylia and the presentation of Dulce Rendición, which recreates the sights and sounds of her own dreamscape by layering analogue synthesis, field recordings and vocal textures.
Dulce Rendición, her first LP, is a collection of meditative and richly melodic tracks with a cinematographic feel. To compose most of the pieces, Ylia drew inspiration directly from her dreams and, more specifically, the seemingly impossible images and sounds that filled them. Alternating between moments of profound introspection and playful fantasy, she plunges into the hazy interval between dreaming and consciousness.
Susana Hernández (Ylia) is a classically trained producer from Alicante, founder of the Animah Records label, director of the radio show La Guarida at Dublab Barcelona and a participant in the 20th Anniversary Edition of the Red Bull Music Academy in Berlin. Her creations have been released on labels like Hivern and Lapsus and she is part of Niño de Elche’s live ensemble.
