Márgenes is a film festival that showcases the latest audiovisual trends in Spain, Latin America and Portugal. In five short years it has become a national and international beacon of the edgiest, most exciting developments in Ibero-American cinema.
This festival shines a spotlight on works with a strong ethical and formal commitment to film and society that explore our contemporary reality.
This year, La Casa Encendida will be the festival's main venue in Madrid. Between 1 and 16 December, we will host screenings of films in the official section, the second session of the film project analysis and development forum MRG/WORK, and, new this year, the multidisciplinary seminar "Full Time Images: #HYPERVISIBILITY", a chance to reflect on and debate the current situation of audiovisual overload. The festival's opening and closing ceremonies will take place in the courtyard of La Casa Encendida. The schedule also includes two matinee sessions for all ages.
