The Magnetic Terrace 2019

Based on the novel by Phillip K. Dick, the film is about a near-future dystopia in which a drug known as Substance D has swept the country, creating dual personalities, paranoia and persecution complexes in the addicts. Linklater portrays these effects on screen through interpolated rotoscope, an animation technique used here to create all kinds of hallucinatory atmospheres.

A Scanner Darkly, by Richard Linklater. United States, 2006. 100’. Original soundtrack with Spanish subtitles

Richard Linklater (Houston, United States, 1960) is one of the most prestigious independent filmmakers in his country. He studied film at Austin Community College and founded the Austin Film Society there in 1985. Still active today, the society screens around one hundred films a year, mainly those that don't reach commercial cinemas. Linklater has an extensive and highly personal filmography, with iconic titles like the trilogy Before Sunrise (1995), Before Sunset (2004) and Before Midnight (2013), as well as Fast Food Nation (2006), Bernie (2011) and Boyhood (2014).
