Plan your visit: Safety is a team effort

La Casa Encendida reopens on 1 July, and we can’t wait to see you and begin this new era together. We’re taking every possible health and safety precaution in the open exhibition galleries, library and media library. However, it’s important to remember that safety is a team effort, so we ask that you carefully review the measures we’ve implemented to comply with applicable laws and regulations:

  • Face masks must be worn at all times
  • Practise social distancing (minimum 1.5 metres)
  • Wash your hands frequently. Use the hand sanitiser dispensers at your disposal
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, especially if you haven’t washed your hands first
  • Do not exceed the maximum capacity posted for each room. Capacities have been reduced to maintain the recommended distance of 1.5 metres between individuals

Our COVID-19 safety and hygiene protocol has taken accessibility concerns into account: wheelchair-accessible toilets are available on all open floors; we have maintained accessible itineraries and door widths; persons with disabilities have priority access to lifts to facilitate vertical mobility; and we will continue to offer accessible service areas and hearing induction loops. Also, although we’ve had to reduce our indoor capacity, we will still have spaces reserved for wheelchair users.

Due to the necessary social distancing measures recommended by health authorities for everyone’s safety and hygiene, we ask that visitors who require assistance come to the centre with a companion.

As our facilities need to be cleaned and sanitised frequently, we have modified the library and media library visiting hours.
