To this we must add the rise of anonymous daily violence in places where victims outnumber the casualties of many wars.

The 5th edition of ÍDEM 2017 will be held from 12 to 24 Sept, with a series of shows on immigration, Islamophobia, justice or ability vs disability. Artists from Belgium, Great Britain, Switzerland and Spain will challenge spectators to tune in with realities that affect other people and communities whose existence we need to acknowledge in order to bring society further together.

Every Tuesday and Thursday in July, La Casa Encendida will host film and debate sessions that explore the theme of forgiveness and its myriad facets. We will screen seven feature films followed by discussions with experts from different fields: psychiatry, sociology, psychology, journalism, film criticism, etc.

It's time for the third edition of La Casa Encendida's Princesses and Darthvaders, the festival that uses guerrilla culture and humour to talk about feminisms. Guests included Bruce LaBruce, Hidrogenesse, Monstruo Espagueti, Ter, Somadamantina, “Feminism for Dummies” and Lidia Damunt, plus the participants in "Vermouth, Press and Blablabla".

La Casa Encendida welcomes the second edition of Primera Persona Madrid, while the same festival celebrates its sixth anniversary at the CCCB in Barcelona.

Tales of oppression and the struggle for freedom, values and rights are told by a filmmaker committed to social causes and intimately familiar with human nature. An open discussion will follow each screening session.
