Lectures “Planet Earth: Our Major Challenges”

In this introduction to the series, Enrique Yeves, director of FAO Spain, offers a global assessment of our current situation and outlines possible solutions. Ours is the first generation with the real possibility of eradicating hunger and poverty, but it’s also the one that could destroy our planet forever.

Is it too late to save our planet? Our future and that of coming generations is at stake as we face the greatest collective challenges of the 21st century. Climate change, poverty, hunger, war, population growth, migration and resource shortages are problems that can only be solved by working together.

Enrique Yeves Valero, director of FAO in Spain, journalist and expert on international political relations with ample experience in the United Nations

Coordinated by: Le Monde diplomatique (Spanish edition), Fundación Mondiplo and FAO Spain
