Puchi Award 2017

Puchi has been awarded. The Jury chose a project over more than 600 applications from around the world in its first open call.

The Jury was composed by the Spanish publisher Manuel Borrás, the Scottish musician Momus (Nick Currie), the Publisher of Fulgencio Pimentel, Joana Carro, and Mónica Carroquino, Head of Cultural Department of La Casa Encendida.

Manuel Borrás (Valencia, 1952) is a key figure in Spanish cultural world. He founded Pre-Textos, emblematic press where he is literary director. Pre-Textos won the National Award from the Spanish Ministry of Culture for the best publishing work in 1997, also it was press of the year at Guadalajara International Book Fair in 2008 and at Lima International Book Fair in 2009. Manuel Borrás has been awarded with the Gold Medal for Fine Arts.

Nick Currie (Edimburg, 1960) is an Scottish singer, composer and writer. Since he published his first album Circus Maximus in 1986, Momus has cultivated a unique music spirit marked by eclecticism. He is also music journalist and writer. He has written books as The Book of Jokes or The Book of Scotlands.

The winning project will be announced in October 2017.

The winner will receive a cash prize of €8,000 and have his/her work published.

Next call will be open in October 2017.
