The ÍDEM Festival is back, packed with amazing proposals for
2016 that invite us to empathise with those around us, guided
by artists with very different ideas, languages and talents:
artistic projects created in, by, for, from and with the
Teresa Lanceta immersed herself in the weaving communities of
the Middle Atlas, and through their textile traditions—a
secret passed down from generation to generation—her eyes
were opened to a collective discovery that has helped people
to live, communicate and endure: an art marked by ancient
habits, motifs and rules which, when mastered, allowed
expressive freedom and creativity.
The latest edition of Inéditos, a competition that helps
young curators find their footing in the professional art
world by giving them the chance to produce their first show
and publish an exhibition catalogue. This year's winners are
Alberto Berzosa, Carolina Jiménez and Irina Mutt.
This exhibition, which will open in Madrid on 14 October,
proposes an exploration of works that draw on nature, either
by adopting organic forms or incorporating natural elements,
to reflect on colour and form through the plasticity inherent
to our ecosystem. The Natural Flow of Events is a
group show curated by Tania Pardo that meditates on the most
basic, contemplative acts of creation.
American artist B. Wurtz is known for gathering and
accumulating ordinary objects, mostly related to consumer
habits, which he later assembles and groups into sculptural
pieces. Rather than sublimating or altering the meaning of
these items for everyday use, the sculptures underscore their
formal quality and function.

Courses/workshops with direct booking may be cancelled up to 15 days before they begin, in which case 50% of the registration fee will be refunded.
Courses/workshops involving a pre-selection process may be cancelled up to 7 days before they begin, in which case 50% of the registration fee will be refunded.
Registration fees will not be refunded if cancellations are made less than 15 days (for direct-booking courses) or 7 days (for pre-selection courses) in advance of the course/workshop start date, or if a student decided to drop out of the course/workshop once it has begun, or for reasons of illness or extenuating circumstances.
La Casa Encendida reserves the right to cancel the workshop/course or change the advertised dates and times depending on the number of people who have signed up, in which case you will be informed of how the payment will be refunded.

Courses & Workshops with pre-selection process
Applicants must submit additional documentation: CV, motivation letter or proof that the applicant falls within the course/workshop's target age group or other group. Any other required documents will be specified.
Participants will be selected from among all applicants who submitted their request within the specified timeframe.
The list of selected participants will be published 10 days before the course/workshop begins, and they will have 5 days to pay the fee and confirm their place. It is the applicants' responsibility to verify their admission to the workshop, either online or by phone.
Selected participants must pay to confirm their booking.
Requests and documentation can be submitted from the moment a course or workshop is published, either by booking online at lacasaencendida.es or in person at the information desk, until 15 days before the course/workshop begins.
If payment is not made within the specified timeframe, the place will automatically be made available to other applicants.
