The French collective Ill Studio will present an ephemeral exhibition of works from their project Fetishistic Scopophilia, in which they reflect on the boundaries between the art object and the visual logic of the internet.

Duration: 2 hours

What happens when two artistic directors are given carte blanche to organise an exhibition? The result is Fetishistic Scopophilia, a project by the III Studio collective that was presented at the start of the year in Paris and is now visiting Madrid in a different format: a show in La Casa Encendida's Tower 1 to celebrate Libros Mutantes, the Madrid Art Book Fair.
This project reflects on the boundaries between the art object and the visual logic of the internet; in the pieces on display, the objectual notion of the work coexists with digital images like those randomly regurgitated by any search engine, and the result is disconcerting and highly topical. The critic Jean-Max Colard has given us a definition of their work: "The members of III Studio show evidence of an extreme refinement, a worship of Beauty that combines minimalism with the kind of artistic fastidiousness which can easily lead to the esoteric. The style is their own and exists prior to the adoption of any technical mastery or graphic-conceptual protocol."
