Biblia de Mortier. Visiones de Juan, cap. 8 y 9

A public program about faith and belief.

Through a series of encounters with invited guests – among them artists, philosophers, writers, activists, poets, musicians and performers – some undeniably complex questions are raised and grappled with. The participants use their contributions as a space to think through the ineffable and to interrogate their personal or theoretical relationships to God, religion and/or spirituality.

While varied in their expertise and backgrounds, their offerings look through a prism of queerness, feminism, mythology, ritual, mysticism, psychedelia, and magic. We are made witness to artistic, historical, theological, and speculative/imaginary propositions, revisitations, debates and discussions. The program is not in itself pro-religion, nor is it positioned against it, rather it acknowledges complication, contradiction, entanglement and what it means to be simultaneously critical and skeptical as well as moved and connected.

Participants include: Yves B. Golden, Federico Campagna, Cõvco, Huw Lemmey, Lydia Ourahmane, Sarah Shin, Aviva Silverman, Elvia Wilk, Leticia Ybarra & Berenice. The program spans the month of March with various online sessions, culminating in a live event on the patio at La Casa Encendida.

The series has been organized by curator and artist Cory John Scozzari.
