La Casa Encendida is proud to present the exhibition of the winning projects of the 26th edition of Generaciones, the competition organised by Fundación Montemadrid to promote young artists and provide them with tools to produce and disseminate their work.
The primary aim of the programme is to offer a platform, focused on contemporary art, to showcase and publicise the work of these young creators to critics as well as general audiences.
A jury composed of David Barro, director of Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani in Palma de Mallorca; Rosa Ferré, co-director of TBA21, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary; and Maria Wills, a freelance curator selected the six projects, each of which received 12,000 euros.
In an effort to improve the working conditions and professionalisation of young artists and assist them with the development of their projects, in this edition we reduced the number of winning projects from eight to six and increased the cash prize to 12,000 euros per project, maintaining 10,000 euros for production costs and adding 2,000 euros as an artist’s fee.
