This exhibition brings together 14 artists from different countries and generations, the majority of whom have designed site-specific pieces for La Casa Encendida that explore the ephemeral in art.

According to the curators, Flora Fairbairn and Olivier Varenne, "We live in a world under constant media surveillance and control. Artists respond to this with ephemeral works which, by definition, cannot really be tracked. They use materials that are constantly evolving or have a limited lifespan. These highly disparate works, sometimes designed for a specific setting, are united by their interest in states of change: evolution, dissolution, memory, fragility and ageing."

The artists participating in the exhibition are Michel Blazy, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, Martin Creed, Eloise Fornieles, Anya Gallaccio, Andy Goldsworthy, Kitty Kraus, Claire Morgan, Tino Sehgal, Chiharu Shiota, Roman Signer, Steiner & Lenzlinger and Gregorio Zanon.
