Puwerty

Puwerty, a portmanteau of the words "power" and "puberty", is the multidisciplinary festival of La Casa Encendida that debunks all stereotypes about adolescence.

It was created to meet the demands of an audience with keen interests but few appealing cultural options designed specifically for them. Young people between the ages of 12 and 25 have now taken control and are bent on making activities at La Casa Encendida revolve around teen culture.

The festival will kick off with workshops led by Celia Dosal and Rocío Torres that explore the shaping of identity in adolescence; offer a "Fans v. Haters" debate about creatures of the internet with Jedet Sánchez and Kevin Qué Bien; and open up an "Inbox" space where you can publicise your project if you're a young artist in any field. And, of course, we can’t forget the music: Sant Miquel and Tronco are swooping in from the Mediterranean to present their new releases. The Suave collective will also join the party, bringing us bandcamp queen Nathy Peluso.

Curated by María del Río and Ángel Aranda.
