A Vegetal Encounter. Patricia Domínguez, Ingela Ihrman and Eduardo Navarro

2 Jun 2021

A Plant Encounter examines our symbiotic relationship with plants through the works of Patricia Domínguez (1984, Santiago de Chile), Ingela Ihrman (1985, Kalmar, Sweden) and Eduardo Navarro (1979, Buenos Aires).

The exhibition proposes a meditative reflection on the plant world and what we can learn from it, reconsidering plants beyond their use for human consumption and showing their complexity and sensitivity. Conceived as a dialogue, it showcases the practices of these three artists whose work slowly breaks down the artificial wall between us and nature that is devastating our ecosystems, our lives and our health.

The exhibition is the result of collaboration between La Casa Encendida and the Wellcome Collection (London). The exhibition present at La Casa Encendida, together with the collaboration with other professionals and collections, continues with the Rooted Beings exhibition that will be held at the Wellcome Collection in 2022. The work of Patricia Domínguez and Eduardo Navarro is developed in collaboration with Delfina Foundation.

The research of the collection and texts for Patricia Domínguez's commission has been carried out by Kim Walker, Cinthya Lana and Dominic Neergheen.
