Albert Ohelen. Moderne Farbkonzepte

12 Jun 2013

Albert Oehlen (Krefeld, Germany, 1945) lives and works in Germany, Switzerland and Spain and is considered one of the most influential painters of our time. The Casa Encendida exhibition brings us closer to his figure and work. Oehlen's work has followed the path that the artist has marked for him despite the fact that he lived a very important artistic moment in the 70s and 80s that he shared with other German artists such as Werner Büttner or Martin Kippenberger. His work especially differs from the 80s onwards when he abandoned figuration. His work is characterized by its heterogeneity, methodology, palette and genre. In his work, painting is equal parts subject and medium. His ability to work with collage, abstraction and figuration establishes a unique dialogue between styles.
