Inéditos 2020

One more year we present Inéditos, our call for young curators. The two winning projects that we present at La Casa Encendida bring us closer to the current artistic panorama in very different ways.

The first of them, curated by Raquel G. Ibáñez and titled Things that never happened although they have always existed, presents a series of works whose link is the exploration of sleep and the liminal spaces of consciousness. The curator considers the act of dreaming as a delocalized phenomenon that does not need the bodily senses to exist, something that presents us with the possibility of understanding consciousness beyond being a mere consequence of brain chemical flows.

The second award-winning exhibition, Swamp Thing: criticism(s) and poetry(s) from aberration, curated by Núria Montclús Carazo, is based on the figure of the comic world Swamp Thing to reflect on the ways in which we relate with the environment and investigate the treatment of the anomalies resulting from this relationship in contemporary artistic practices, their aesthetic possibilities and their discursive capacities.
