“Physical and Human Geography”, by Anna Bella Geiger

28 Sep 2017

The exhibition Physical and Human Geography, curated by Estrella de Diego, presents a tour of the work of the Brazilian artist Anna Bella Geiger (Rio de Janeiro, 1933), an essential figure in the history of Brazilian conceptual art and in the analysis of new “ways of seeing”.

Physical geography and human geography become the excuse that Anna Bella Geiger uses to reflect on issues related to colonial policies, cultural stereotypes, exclusions, discourses imposed by hegemony... and, especially, the ways of questioning them. , always from fragile and delicate forms that hide a camouflaged radicality.
