2nd Creative Upcycling Marathon

The Fashion Revolution is here, and it's gearing up for the 2nd Creative Upcycling Marathon! During the event, a huge pile of clothes will loom over the courtyard, and around it visitors will find different initiatives and activities related to recycling, reuse and other alternatives to conventional fashion consumption.
The apparel industry is the second largest polluter of the planet. Its environmental and social consequences are now so toxic that sustainable fashion has emerged as one of the most effective positive alternatives. Fashion therefore has the potential to become a powerful tool of social transformation.
Under the slogan "The greenest garment is the one that already exists" (Yvon Chouinard), we'll host an exciting demonstration of the potential of textile recycling and reuse: as visitors watch, eight different creators will work to design and fashion an "upcycled" garment using whatever they can find in the pile of discarded clothes.
Creativity, experimentation and participation will be the driving forces on this day, with spaces and activities for audiences of all ages.
