Korean Rock Trilogy, by Lee Joon-Ik

The Korean cultural centre in Madrid has organised a retrospective on the prolific film-maker Lee Joon-Ik, with screenings hosted at the Spanish Film Archive and La Casa Encendida. At La Casa specifically we will be showing his Korean Rock Trilogy comprising Radio Star, The Happy Life and Sunny.
Lee Joon-Ik beat every box-office record in his country with his historical drama The King and the Clown. After this hit, which gave him a privileged position in the emerging Korean film industry, he decided to embark on a modest trilogy about rock music and nostalgia. The films explore the energy of young people as a driving force of progress and present rock as something that never dies, even if human beings insist on destroying each other.
