Friday night at the fair will conclude with CULPA, the queer artists’ collective focused on electronic music, featuring jovendelaperla and Berenice on the turntables; and Saturday will bring a visual intervention by Rob Collado and the Dembooty collective, inviting us to dance to the beat of funk, dembow and dancehall.

Friday

9 pm - CULPA

CULPA was established in 2019, born of a need to fill the dancefloors with affections, mistakes and distortions and create a space where LGBTQ+ people could feel represented and comfortable. Artists like Slim Soledad, Oli XL, Ecstasya and Bella Báguena have performed at their parties in Madrid, Barcelona and Berlin. Their current residents are MAAY (AR), jovendelaperla (ES) and Berenice (ES).

Saturday

9 pm - Rob Collado + Dembooty

Dembooty was formed in 2019, when CRKS290, Brava and Umami joined forces. At their parties, people sweat to the rhythm of global sounds like funk, dembow and dancehall, as well as bass, UK funky, break or more urban styles. The collective has become a leading name in the Spanish capital, attracting Tayhana, Highkili, Topanga, 8kitoo, Alvva and other top talents. Their monthly show, “Dembooty Club”, airs on Radio Relativa. Although the group is based in Madrid, they’ve taken their sounds to Razzmatazz (Barcelona), Monkey Week (Seville) and Turbo Vodafone FM (Porto). In 2022, thanks to Boiler Room, they started the year at Ballantine’s True Studios Madrid, making it clear that they intend to continue growing on the scene. These dance advocates at the vanguard of club culture bring a different, personal vision of partying to Libros Mutantes, an energetic, label-free spirit that focuses on enjoyment and sounds like the future.

Rob Collado works as an illustrator, animator and art director of audiovisual materials. As a young man, his obsession with graffiti and the illustrated logos of skateboard stickers he saw at the time inspired him to begin drawing distorted letters and characters. He later expanded his range of references to include things like Japanese anime, ligne claire and abstract art.
