Influenced by classical minimalist music, Grand River's work incorporates a wide variety of sound structures and symphonic calculations through which she creates absorbing experimental and ambient narratives that combine traditional composition with her investigations of contemporary sounds.

Aimée Portioli is a Dutch-Italian composer and sound designer who produces and performs under the name Grand River. She makes experimental electronic music with a cinematic touch, placing an ambient lens over complex rhythm structures. These exuberant and bizarre landscapes blur the lines between long transitions and suspense.
In 2020 Portioli released her second album Blink A Few Times To Clear Your Eyes on Editions Mego, having released Pineapple in 2018 on Spazio Disponibile and contributed to compilations by Ghostly International and Australian Longform Editions in 2019. Her first release, Crescente (2017), was named by XLR8R as one of the best releases of the year. Since then, she has performed at festivals and clubs around the globe, including Berghain, MUTEK, Mapping Festival, Nachtdigital, Le Guess Who, De School, Paral-lel Festival, The Labyrinth, Funkhaus and many more. Since 2016 Grand River has run the record label One Instrument.
