The undisputed queen of Ugandan rap, MC Yallah, is performing in Madrid for the first time alongside German producer Debmaster to present one of the most powerful projects launched by the young but already firmly established label Nyege Nyege Tapes.

With over twenty years’ experience under her belt, this rapper—of Kenyan descent but born and raised in Uganda—is now at the pinnacle of her musical career. Since launching her debut album Kubali in late 2019, named one of the Top 50 Releases of the Year by The Wire, the singer has been collaborating and sharing music nonstop. In 2020 she put out an EP with producer Eomac on Phantom Limb and collaborated with several artists from Nyege Nyege’s sister label Hakuna Kulala, including DJ Die Soon and Scotch Rolex, on some of its tracks.
An unstoppable force on stage, the artist delivers her lyrics in several languages (Kiswahili, Luganda, English and Luo), creating a unique sound unlike anything out there today. Plus, her magnetism, charisma and ferocity when she goes into action are utterly mesmerising.
At the end of this year, she plans to release her second album with her now-faithful producer Debmaster, suggesting that, fortunately for us, we haven’t heard the last of this talented MC.
