The 2019 Puchi Award ceremony will feature blogueranicho as its host of honour, accompanied on the turntables by El cuerpo del Disco. In addition to presenting the winning works, this ceremony will invite new candidates to begin competing for the 2020 Puchi Award.

Duration: 3 hours

A jury consisting of Leonard Koren (artist, theorist/critic and editor), Nico Houweling (manager of Idea Books), Lucía Casani (director of La Casa Encendida) and César Sánchez (editor at Fulgencio Pimentel) decided that the 2019 Puchi Award should go to Sauntering by Daniel Toca, who will attend the ceremony.

Sauntering is a book about pilgrimage that examines different cultural, artistic, philosophical, anthropological and religious expressions. But it doesn’t just talk about pilgrimage—the book itself is a journey.

The works that received special prizes at last year’s edition will also be presented: Ética para Julia by Ricardo Díaz Peris, and Ser Amado by Javier Lozano.

2020 Puchi Award hopefuls will be able to submit their proposals from the day of the gala, 20 November, until 23 January 2020. La Casa Encendida and the publishing house Fulgencio Pimentel will choose the most brilliant, innovative, free-spirited books in any genre, based solely on their boldness and their connection with the different languages of today.
