Poems I Will Never Release: Chiara Fumai 2007–2017

La Casa Encendida presents the first retrospective dedicated to the Italian artist Chiara Fumai (Rome, 1978 – Bari, 2017). The exhibition aims to delve into the work of an artist who has developed through her work the languages of performance and feminist aesthetics of the 21st century.
Poems that I will never show, curated by Milovan Farronato and Francesco Urbano Ragazzi, presents a very complete selection of works that translate and materialize the elusive performances that Chiara Fumai voluntarily and systematically refused to document. Not allowing herself to be victimized, belittled or limited to the condition of a female artist, Chiara Fumai used to create, with a language between fiction and reality, situations, collages and uncomfortable environments around feminism, the Italian autonomous movement or the pseudoscientific shows of the 19th century, among others.
