In this lecture, we will consider how economic growth does not benefit all countries or all members of society equally. Its principal achievement has been to multiply the number of millionaires in the world, with two major consequences: a dramatic rise in inequality and a string of financial crises.

Guest speaker: Serge Halimi, who has a PhD in Political Science from UC Berkeley and BS in Information and Communication Sciences from the University of Paris II, is a lecturer at the Sorbonne. Since March 2008 he has been the editorial director of Le Monde diplomatique, a publication he began working with in 1992.
