Try Again
Try Again features selected works by artists who use video games as raw material in installations (some of which are interactive), feature-length films, concerts and performances. As they tour the show, visitors can take a virtual stroll through Stockholm's art museum while fighting enemies from the popular video game Half-Life, take part in multi-player battles against the author of one installation with the possibilities afforded by Quake III Arena, observe the recreation of historic performances in Second Life or participate in the repression of Pinochet in Chile with the help of the graphics engine Unreal.
The book published to accompany the show contains the pieces of participating artists who reinterpreted and transformed video games into works of art, as well as a survey of the history of gaming and texts that analyse the phenomenon from different angles.
