Ropa sucia, by Félix Zurita de Higes. Spain, 2021. 48'

Clothing production has experienced an exponential boom worldwide in recent years, driven by the phenomenon known as fast fashion. This business model, based on mass, low-cost production, is having a devastating impact on the environment and society.

In collaboration with the Campaña Ropa Limpia (Clean Clothes Campaign) we present Ropa Sucia (Dirty Clothes), a documentary that shows us the reality of dressmakers in different parts of the world. The consequences of this textile industry model are not limited to Central America. The documentary shows the reality of textile workers in that region and also in Valencia, Spain.

Ropa Sucia invites us to reflect on our role as consumers and recognise the consequences of our decisions.

The documentary will be followed by a discussion with the director, Féliz Zurita de Higes, and a representative of the Campaña Ropa Limpia.
