Creative writing workshop with Jaakko Pallasvuo

In this two-hour online workshop delivered in English, each of the ten participants will write a text, read it aloud and discuss it with the other attendees in an intensive version of a conventional writing workshop that in reality will be anything but conventional under Jaakko Pallasvuo’s leadership.

For Jaakko Pallasvuo, fiction is a way of speaking honestly about the world. But so too are humour, animation, comic and, of course, the internet. In fact, one of the first difficulties the spectator encounters on discovering his work is concerned with categories. Is he a plastic artist? A writer? A creator of digital memes in the form of video and images? An underground Instagram star (@avocado_ibuprofen)? Libros Mutantes will not provide a definitive answer about which category he fits into, but it will leave us in no doubt that Pallasvuo is one of those creators capable of assessing and explaining the present—and its contradictions—in a unique language. And for that reason we’ve invited him to take part in RSVP, the intensive edition, part in person, part online, but more mutant than ever, of the independent book fair organised by La Casa Encendida.
