Ordering space, time and action in an unusual manner are the aims of this workshop. For three days, we will therefore occupy the space of the performative installation Mejor que saludarse con los codos [Better than Bumping Elbows]. During the ÍDEM Festival, this space will be our headquarters for researching the creative methodologies in which the project is rooted.

We want to encourage ways to expand the procedures we use to create art. Our own installation will therefore become a meeting point for gaining a conceptual understanding of the work's final form and its intrinsic relationships, using procedures that examine the essential aspects of the message we aim to convey.

The workshop has two key objectives:

  • To develop or delve into an individual or collective project so that we can analyse and gain a profound understanding of performative creation. Fernando Rubio and Alfredo Ramos want to foster collective thinking about forms, procedures, contents and concepts. Participants will therefore be invited to examine their form of creation and the relationships of the materials and aesthetics that an artwork may propose and need to discover.
  • To establish a dialogue with the “Mejor que saludarse con los codos” installation, since the seminar takes place within it and becomes a permanent educational aid. Participants may work inside the space, appropriating it as an essential resource for reflecting on performative theatre and its relationship with the visual arts.
