The “To Be Public” festival has invited Poderío Vital to organise the "Madrid Complaints Choir", a choir open to all residents who want to share their complaints about the city, and to those who want to sing about them as well.

Duration: 2 hours

The "Complaints Choir" concept developed by Tellervo Kalleinen and Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen grew out of the idea of turning all the energy that people pour into complaining into a positive project. In 2006 they made the project open source, inviting anyone to organise a choir in their own city. Since then, around 140 choirs have been formed around the world, ranging from 150 singers in Cologne to just one person in Canada. Some choirs sing for five minutes, others for more than an hour.

To share complaints or join the choir, fill in this form.

The choir will rehearse the musical composition on 15, 16, 17 and 18 November from 6 to 8.30 pm, and will give a public performance in Plaza de Agustín Lara at 1 pm on Saturday 19 November.

Poderío Vital may be defined, for example, as theatrical vibrational sculptors who compose expanding action songs. They explore the performing arts, movement, writing, musical composition and audiovisual composition in relation to presence, the wisdom of the body, emotions, pleasure, and the expressive capacities of living beings, reflecting on communicative acts and togetherness, of doing with others. Poderío Vital is Óscar Bueno and Itxaso Corral, and we're looking forward to singing with you.
