The subtle, unsettling tale of a woman who connects with a corpse in search of affection.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

When a lonely woman running her family’s funeral home is on the verge of losing hope for herself and her business, she finds comfort and fortune in an abandoned corpse. She ritualistically incorporates it into her daily routine, initially as a good luck charm and eventually as a beloved companion, creating a macabre poetry of transformed abjection. The protagonist alchemises a grim situation, finding life and sustenance in what outwardly reads as decay.

Dwein Baltazar is a film director, screenwriter and editor who earned her BA in Communication Arts in Manila, the Philippines. She has directed several series and is also known for the films Gusto Kita with All My Hypothalamus (2018) and Oda Sa Wala (2018). Baltazar admits that directors Michel Gondry and François Ozon have strongly influenced her way of seeing and making films.
