This audiovisual show of expanded cinema in 16 mm premieres at She Makes Noise in Madrid. Electronic producer Dania and visual artist and filmmaker Valentina Alvarado move between different cultures and continents, exploring migrant identity, vocal experimentation and analogue cinema.

Dania is the founder of the Paralaxe Editions label and divides her time between Spain and the far corners of Australia, where she works as an emergency doctor. In 2022 she presented her debut solo album at the MIRA Festival in Barcelona, where she rediscovered her own voice and explored the cultural limitations of musical expression.
Released on the Ecstatic label, her new production Foreign Body premieres at She Makes Noise in Madrid. The project is based on the concept of the foreign body, an alien object that must be eliminated to prevent severe organic side effects or inappropriate incorporation into the human body.
Dania examines identity through the lens of conflict-induced forced migration, exploring her own experience as a migrant woman and the persistent sense of being an outsider within the pathological body politic.
She performs alongside Venezuelan visual artist and filmmaker Valentina Alvarado, whose work explores the hybridisation of various visual languages such as collage, ceramics and film.
Alvarado uses 16-mm projectors in the performance.
