The Venezuelan composer takes us on an enigmatic journey of no return as his analogue synthesisers capture the European idealistic vision of the tropics.

Duration: 1 hour

In his album Ficciones del Trópico, Molero creates soundscapes that portray the idealism that was documented by romantic explorers in search of new worlds, crossing the South American rainforest, discovering uncharted territories and evoking a utopian reality inspired by the writings of Victor Segalen and the visions of Werner Herzog in Fitzcarraldo and, as we will have the opportunity to see in the Magnetic Terrace film cycle, Aguirre, Wrath of God.

The titles of the eight tracks on the album reference birds, animals and landscapes that simulate a continuous discovery.

Alexander Molero was born in Maracaibo (Venezuela) but a few years ago he relocated to Barcelona, a place that has given him new notions of how the Amazon was imagined by the West. Molero’s tropical fiction is like diving into the sea with Jürgen Müller, exploring Alpha Centauri with Tangerine Dream or building new exotica through the lens of Mike Cooper. But this time everything happens in a jungle.
