A monographic programme that analyses Musquiqui Chihying’s view of European colonialism in Asia and Africa and the new forms of “silent” colonialism China is practising on the European and African continents.

Musquiqui Chihying is one of the most promising Taiwanese visual artists of his generation. Dividing his time between Berlin and Taipei, his work is a combination of the moving image, photography and installation. Like other prominent Taiwanese artists, he investigates the still-gaping wounds of European colonialism in Asia and Africa and how the perverse effects of globalisation affect contemporary society.
