Electrónica en Abril 2026 kicks off in the Courtyard with a total experience: an audiovisual performance on the dissolution of borders.
JASSS and Ben Kreukniet present A World of Service (AWOS) in Spain for the first time, a project conceived as an exploration of psychological states in times of contemporary uncertainty. The proposal goes beyond the traditional live format: performance, light, video and sound are articulated through an architecture of LED screens and a custom lighting design, creating an unstable environment where perception fragments and reality is filtered through layers and interference.
Behind JASSS is Silvia Jiménez Álvarez, the Asturian producer, DJ and sound artist whose practice approaches techno only to subvert it, unfolding into atmospheres of industrial pop, nu-metal distortion and saturated R&B. Her releases on labels such as AD 93 and Ostgut Ton, as well as her residency at Herrensauna—the influential Berlin-based artistic collective that has reshaped the global queer techno scene—have established her as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary electronic music.
Ben Kreukniet is a visual artist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He works with light, sound, video and emerging technologies to create installations, objects and altered environments that investigate subjectivity, ritual, norm and order. He has developed audiovisual and stage projects for artists such as Travis Scott, James Blake and Massive Attack, as well as installations for the Barbican (London), MONA (Hobart) and the Manchester International Festival.
In AWOS, the two artists activate a stage device that explores psychological states and human and non-human forces, where nothing is fixed and meaning remains in constant transition.
The presentation of AWOS takes place with the support of the Directorate-General of Performing Arts and Music of Spain’s Ministry of Culture (DG-AEM).
