Electrónica en Abril presents a hands-on workshop on music production and sampling techniques led by GAZZI, focused on the creative use of sound archives as a compositional tool.
In this workshop, GAZZI approaches sampling as a central tool in contemporary music production. Through practical examples, he shares his process of searching for, selecting and manipulating sounds, working with techniques of editing and rhythmic recontextualisation.
GAZZI is an Andalusian producer and DJ based in Madrid, considered one of the most interesting emerging names on the current Spanish electronic music scene. His work is characterised by a melodic sensitivity marked by a certain sense of nostalgia and a particular attention to sonic detail. In his latest album, Waves of Time, released on the Madrid-based label Glossy Mistakes, he explores a more introspective register closer to ambient, opening a new phase in his artistic evolution.
The workshop is aimed at people with a basic knowledge of music production who want to deepen their understanding of sampling as an expressive tool. An advanced level is not required, but familiarity with using music production software is recommended.
