Electrónica en Abril 2026
Electrónica en Abril expands with European and Spanish premieres, an extensive programme of masterclasses and workshops, artist residencies, new collaborations within the framework of TMLAB, and an additional night of dancing in Electrónica en el Club. The line-up features artists such as JASSS & Ben Kreukniet, Lyra Pramuk, Shackleton and weed420.
In this edition, the Directorate-General of Performing Arts and Music of Spain’s Ministry of Culture and Fundación SGAE join the festival to strengthen its educational dimension and contribute to the professionalisation of the Spanish music sector, in a collaboration designed with long-term continuity in mind.
This April, La Casa Encendida once again becomes a hub for electronic music, with four days of programming that bring together concerts and club sessions alongside an extensive professional programme of masterclasses, workshops and talks.
In her second year as curator, Elisa Luengo reinforces the festival’s focus on the concert format—beyond the club context—presenting projects in which electronic music is performed live and built from human interaction and collaboration between artists.
Within this framework, Lyra Pramuk performs in Madrid for the first time with a live show that fuses the limitless potential of the human voice with the magic of technology. An international reference for her work with processed voice and electronic choral composition, she will also expand her presence at the festival with the professional workshop Listening Together.
The festival will also host the Spanish premiere of A World of Service (AWOS), the ambitious audiovisual project by JASSS, one of the key figures in European experimental electronics, and Ben Kreukniet, a visual artist who has worked with Massive Attack. Together they transform the concert into a large-scale immersive experience that will open Electrónica en Abril 2026 with the support of the Directorate-General of Performing Arts and Music of the Ministry of Culture (DG-AEM).
The dialogue between electronic music and ancestral traditions runs through The Silver Thread, a meeting between cult experimental electronic artist Shackleton, Indian classical singer Siddhartha Belmannu, ghatam master—a traditional percussion instrument from southern India—Giridhar Udupa, and Polish multi-instrumentalist Wacław Zimpel. The project moves between ritual electronics, contemporary improvisation and the musical traditions of India.
From Venezuela, the young and promising collective weed420 arrives at Electrónica en Abril as part of their first European tour, presenting a radical sonic collage that uses samples from Venezuelan popular culture—such as bus sounds and radio advertisements—to explore nostalgia and the country’s social crisis.
The relationship between electronic programming and live percussion takes shape in the encounter between upsammy and Valentina Magaletti, who present Seismo in Madrid, released on the influential PAN label. Their live performance combines structure and improvisation in a high-intensity proposal that reinforces the festival’s commitment to the concert format.
The festival’s nighttime programme also expands. Within the framework of the European cooperation project TMLAB—which supports and highlights emerging artists and curators from underrepresented communities—Laura Pacas and Eris de Egaña, from the collective Alimentación Ming Zhu, join the programme as emerging curators of Electrónica en el Club. The format adds a new night at the nearby venue Villanos, with two sessions—Friday and Saturday—featuring artists such as Rosa Pistola, Damián Schwartz, Animistic Beliefs and Genosidra.
Also within TMLAB, Electrónica en Abril has organised an artistic residency between Belgian artist Youniss and Salamanca-based producer Merca Bae, whose collaborative work will premiere at this year’s edition.
The Directorate-General of Performing Arts and Music of the Ministry of Culture (DG-AEM) and Fundación SGAE join this edition to strengthen the festival’s professional dimension and contribute to the training and visibility of the Spanish music sector. In collaboration with the DG-AEM, Electrónica en Abril promotes a programme aimed at the internationalisation of Spanish electronic music, fostering encounters between international programmers and local agents during the festival days. Together with Fundación SGAE, the programme also expands with masterclasses, workshops and roundtables led by Marina Herlop, Nosedrip, Lyra Pramuk and Futura Artists, addressing topics such as production, sampling, label management, booking and music programming.
To close the festival, on Sunday morning electronic music becomes part of the En Familia programme with a concert by French harpist, composer and performer Ange Halliwell.
