The Silver Thread brings together Shackleton, Wacław Zimpel, Indian classical vocalist Siddhartha Belmannu and percussionist Giridhar Udupa in a project that explores the meeting points between ritual electronics, contemporary improvisation and the musical traditions of India.

Shackleton is a cult figure in experimental electronic music. In the early 2000s he established himself as one of the key figures of underground dubstep, both through his productions and through the founding in 2005 of the label Skull Disco, a landmark on the UK bass scene. Over time, the producer—born in the north of England and now based in Berlin—has developed a distinctive language that transcends traditional club codes and places rhythm within a more expansive and ritual dimension.

Alongside him, Polish multi-instrumentalist Wacław Zimpel brings a musical practice shaped by improvisation, minimalism and a deep interest in traditional and spiritual music.

Meanwhile, the voice of Siddhartha Belmannu—trained in both the Carnatic tradition (South Indian classical music) and the Hindustani tradition (the classical music of northern India)—moves fluidly between the classical and the experimental.

Completing the ensemble is Giridhar Udupa, a master of the ghatam and Carnatic percussion, grounding the performance in an ancestral rhythmic dimension.
